HOMONJI FOR DOJOS
BRING HOMONJI IAIDO TO YOUR DOJO
Homonji Iaido adds additional traditional training to your existing curriculum without disrupting what you already do best. It gives your students a direct experience of Japanese sword work, posture, and presence, while strengthening the culture you’ve already built on your mats.
We designed this program specifically for established dojos that want to offer authentic sword training as a powerful complement—not a competing style. We provide training for the trainers, class structures and curriculum for established dojo to add Iaido as a complimentary offering.

WHY ADD HOMONJI IAIDO TO YOUR DOJO?
Offers a unique, traditional art
Many students are curious about the Japanese sword but rarely have authentic, safe, structured access to it; offering Homonji Iaido sets your dojo apart in your local community.
Deepens focus and discipline
Homonji Iaido’s precise forms demand concentration, controlled breathing, and full‑body awareness, which carry over into every other art your students practice.
Creates a new path for senior students
Iaido gives long‑time students and instructors a fresh challenge that deepens their budo without asking them to “start over” in a new system.

HOW HOMONJI FITS INTO YOUR DOJO
Homonji Iaido is designed to plug into your schedule and teaching culture, not replace them.
Simple class structure
We start with a clear class structure that teaches multiple aspects of training that students can retain and refine over time. Multiple practices allow for a mix of training that keep students engaged and progressing.
Cross‑training philosophy
The goal is to support your primary art—whether karate, jujutsu, aikido, or another discipline—by sharpening focus, timing, and composure, not to pull students away from it.
Respect for your rank and lineage
We recognize your position as head instructor. All sword training is framed as a supplement within your dojo’s hierarchy and etiquette, with a clear understanding of roles and boundaries, while adding an additional traditional lineage through Homonji.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
Our program allows through direct teaching to "train the trainer" so Dojo can start a program after a couple of sessions and continue to build and train over time to become a full instructor.
Curriculum and lesson plans
A progressive class plan tailored for once‑ or twice‑weekly classes, including clear goals for beginners, intermediates, and advanced students.
Instructor training and support
We provide direct instruction to train your designated staff members to lead classes with ongoing guidance and feedback. No matter your location, we can arrange to visit your dojo, or plan for your group to visit ours to develop further techniques over time.
Testing and Ranking
We will plan a time for your students to test once a year and receive progressive ranks as they develop.
